Annual Events

The annual Hayfield May Queen Festival features visiting Queens, a May Queen Parade, bands, floats, vintage vehicles, motorbikes, fancy dress, other entertainment and a fair and attracts around 1000 visitors every year.

Hayfield Country Show and Sheep Dog Trials are held every September in the nearby hamlet of Little Hayfield (the birthplace of Coronation Street!). The event attracts huge numbers of visitors from home and abroad and includes not only sheep dog trials but dog shows, falconry and many inter-village contests.

Fell Races over Lantern Pike are held every year and provide a gruelling tests for both professional and amateur athletes from across the country and further afield. Are you brave enough to take part?
